METALLICA To Film New Video Next Week
April 29, 2003METALLICA will be filming a video for the title track to their new album, "St. Anger", next week at an as-yet-undisclosed location, a representative of Mercury Records U.K. revealed Monday (April 28) during a listening session for the CD in Stockholm, Sweden. There will be no single released prior to the album, which is scheduled to surface on June 10 through Elektra Records in the U.S. However, an edited version of the title track — featuring new METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo — will be issued as a single several weeks following the album's release (all bass tracks on the "St. Anger" full-length CD were performed by producer Bob Rock).
METALLICA are scheduled to kick off their world tour in support of "St. Anger" on June 6 at the Rock Im Park festival in Nürnberg, Germany. Following the group's appearances at Leeds and Reading festivals in the U.K. in late August, METALLICA are scheduled to play dates in South America, Asia and Australia. A full headlining European tour is set to take place in February/March 2004.
A release party for "St. Anger" is scheduled to take place in Stockholm on May 27. METALLICA frontman James Hetfield and guitarist Kirk Hammett are expected to attend the event, which will not to be open to the public.
